I started playing guitar when I was about 14. The feeling of learning a new song and showing it off to my friends was unmatched. Eventually I began to learn the basics of using a DAW (digital audio workstation), so I could record the music I was working on. I was then set on a path of technological discovery; becoming familiar with the ins and outs of various software and hardware setups.

This added to my growing curiosity of how these programs were made in the first place. I wanted to know just how a DAW like Ableton or Logic was conceived, and how it was built from the ground up. Fast forward a few years and I'm attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying that very topic. After spending my years at the College becoming proficient in MAX/MSP to build audio software patches for other companies (and for myself), I knew I wanted to expand my knowledge of development. A bigger coding 'toolset' meant holding more keys to some of the locked doors I came across in the world of software engineering. This brought me to seek out a coding bootcamp, and Flatiron was the right fit for me. Now, as my first week of classes approaches, I couldn't be more excited.
